Archive The must-attend annual event!

medFEL 2021 adapts to event and launches a digital version

Extraordinary circumstances require an appropriate solution!
medFEL keeps its promise and maintains the link with the industry.
A compact and efficient format, a desire to be ready to meet societal expectations.

For more 10 years, the Fruit & Vegetable community has been congregating in France’s Occitania region at medFEL, a venue for exchange and meetings between the sector’s professionals.

medFEL’s status is that of a business development tool that facilitates connections between exhibitors & visitors and a fertile source of information and content, with key highlights including the announcement of harvest forecasts and a whole series of debates and round tables on topical issues.

In response to societal expectations and environmental challenges, companies in the Fruit & Vegetable sector are today obliged to strive to meet consumer demands related to sustainability, CSR, environmental protection, zero pesticide residue, etc.

The mission of medFEL is twofold. Firstly, it aims to bring together all the stakeholders in the Fruit & Vegetable sector from throughout the supply chain around these consumer trends and topical issues.

Secondly, its goal is to allow professionals to present and discover products and services in connection with these essential themes: environmental protection labels, new packaging, product quality certification laboratories, eco-aware logistics, etc.

The gathering for all regions

The idea? Think global, act local.

  • By gathering together the operators from all the regions of France  for 2 days
    • In regional pavilions,
    • Offering regions a platform to talk about their initiatives, expectations, needs and specificities,
    • Allowing the suppliers of attending regions to meet retailers interested in offering products under short supply chain arrangements.
  • By playing host to an international offering to fulfil the expectations of buyer attendees.

The Organic offering

medFEL is the definitive and legitimate business-focussed event to develop organic ranges and become an obligatory port of call for organic Fruit and Vegetable buyers.

Buyers are in search of organic products to cater to growing consumer demand.

The organic range at medFEL

  • Organic Road: the visitor trail enabling buyers to easily identify the organic offering at the show.
  • Organic Market: a specially-staged space to showcase the range on offer from exhibitors
  • Talks and debates: shining a spotlight on organic market players who develop eco-friendly and circular economy initiatives.

New consumer trends & a progressive approach

Zero trace, zero waste, circular economy, progressive players: such are the keys to success for the sector, from the earliest production stages to retail. Consumers are increasingly attentive to these commitments which guide their purchasing behaviour. medFEL deciphers these underlying trends, brings together exhibitors involved in these approaches and redesigns its content around these topical themes.

  • Soil conservation, biodiversity and agroecology
Impact on the sector, the arrival of new market players and the development of sustainable, safe and verified food supply systems
  • Environmental protection
Plastic alternatives, eco-responsible packaging, green transport, the circular economy, etc.
  • Eco-awareness, a growing consumer trend
New labels, a need for transparency, local consumption, etc.
