This conference will present the regulatory framework governing contaminants in fruits and vegetables. Topics will include maximum residue limits for pesticides, maximum levels of heavy metals, nitrates and perchlorates, as well as indicative thresholds for PFAS.
The conference will also provide guidance on interpreting analytical results: assessing a sample's compliance with regulatory limits, accounting for measurement uncertainty, and methods for evaluating toxicological risk when maximum residue limits are exceeded. Finally, a section will be dedicated to anticipated regulatory changes.
