Fel Innov’ Challenge

The FEL INNOV’ Challenge was created by medFEL and aims to place innovation at the heart of the fruit and vegetable sector and promote the convergence of innovative solutions and demand. This is a pitch competition where candidates have 3 minutes each, stopwatch in hand, to demonstrate the benefits of their solution based on three major themes:

  • Product innovation: product, packaging, variety…
  • Innovation in logistics solutions and marketing: transport, packaging, storage, traceability, logistics…
  • New sustainable practices *: organisation, brand, waste, CSR….

China has launched a huge investment plan (3,000 billion dollars) to develop its trade relations. This is the so-called “New Silk Roads” project. What will be the impact of these new trade routes on trade in the Mediterranean and on the distribution of fresh produce, including fruit and vegetables?
